Alobo Naga wears many hats besides being one of the most widely known North East musician having travelled and performed in many countries and festivals. Alobo, besides being a solo artist, is also the front man of the band ‘Alobo Naga & The Band’ (ANTB), an Indian rock outfit from Dimapur. The band rose to fame in 2011 with their video single ‘Painted Dreams’ which was an instant hit; it was premiered in August 2011 at VH1. The popularity of the video also helped the band to win the “Best Indian Act” at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2012 and also were nominated for “Best worldwide Act”.
A recipient of the Governor’s Award for Distinction in Music, his music with ANTB is progressive rock largely but not limited to that as an artist.
He is also the Director of Musik-A (Alobo Naga School of music) and is a composer/producer & write music for films, TV shows, jingles etc. He has also opened for many International Bands & Artistes like Hoobastank, MLTR besides performing in some big festivals across the world like Fringe Festival Scotland, Edinburgh Military Tattoo Festival, Handshake concert Jakarta.
Alobo Naga is the brand Ambassador for the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan for Nagaland appointed by the Governor of Nagaland in 2015. He is also the Nagaland State Icon for the SVEEP Campaign in the state awarded by the Election Commission of India. He is very involved in charitable and philanthropic work.
