They say the Christmas and New Year celebrations in Mokokchung is one of the most extravagant and attractive things to see. It’s also known as the Land of Pioneers’ due to the luminaries in various fields emerging out of that district. In the last couple of years, Tune up channel has also given some more reasons of celebrations for music lovers from the region as they have won a few state level competitions and are starting to make a mark on the scene.
Formed in 2015, Tune Up Channel is an amalgamation of the various styles that each of the members bring to the band’s sound. The members, vocalist SunepA Jamir, guitarist Temjen Lemtur, drummer Tia Jamir, bassist MerenLongchar and keyboardist AyuMongro, have cometogether to a very defined Rock, Pop Funk sound.
Their biggest success coming in the 2015 Hornbill International Rock Contest 2015, when they won the best band award pipping some of the best bands from the country to the winner’s cheque. Since then they have gone on to win many Rock contests as well as feature in festivals across the country.
